There’s only one winner in every race.
Everyone else is somewhere between “almost” and “why are we doing this again?”
That’s where Midpack Mentality lives. Not at the front with the trophies. Not at the back, making excuses.
Right in the middle — showing up, fixing the car, burning vacation days, and doing it again next weekend. That mindset didn’t come from a brainstorm. It came from years spent with Dirty Duck Racing (DDR) and racing dirt bikes.
DDR has been racing the same MK1 VW GTI since 2010. Sixty races. Over 46,000 race miles. Five B-Class wins.
Do the math. That’s a lot of weekends where we didn’t win anything — except more experience, more scars, and more reasons to come back. The average finish? Somewhere in the low 30s. Median finish? Around P21.
Failures? Plenty. Broken parts, lost laps, dumb mistakes, long nights. And yet — still here. That’s Midpack Mentality.

Core Dirty Duck Racing By The Numbers (pulled from our data sheet)

  • Total races logged: 59
  • Total race miles recorded: ~45,200 miles
  • Average finishing position: 33
  • Median finishing position: 21–22
  • Best overall finish: P3
  • Worst recorded finish: P113
  • Top-10 finishes: 12
  • Top-20 finishes: 28

That means:

  • Roughly half of all races finished outside the top 20
  • Only ~20 percent of races cracked the top 10
