Bell HP7 Evo III Carbon FIA8860 — Open-Wheel Racing Helmet
The HP7 Evo III is Bell's FIA8860-2018 "super helmet" for open-wheel, formula, and open-cockpit racing — the standard flat chin bar version. Aerospace-grade carbon fiber shell, 14-channel ventilation, SE07 DSAF shield with 5mm+ optical-grade visor, optimized visor pivot geometry for lower aerodynamic drag and noise. Developed through close collaboration with F1 drivers and teams. Standard version has no duckbill spoiler — better for cars where chin spoiler would cause clearance issues.
What's inside the shell:
- High-strength ultra-lightweight FIA8860 carbon shell — aerospace-grade composite materials, the highest standard in motorsport helmet construction
- SE07 DSAF visor — optical grade, 5mm+ in field of vision — exceeds standard visor thickness requirements; sets new standard for anti-fog and vision quality
- Low-pivot visor mechanism — pivot points positioned lower on the shell for improved aerodynamics, reduced noise, and enhanced energy absorption
- Synthetic rubber visor seal — virtually no air or water penetration through the eyeport
- 14-channel ventilation — top and chin bar intakes with extraction points. Two-part center and side air intakes installed.
- Advanced multi-density liner — aerospace-derived energy absorption system
- Integrated accessory channels — drink tube and radio routing
- Pre-installed HANS anchors — factory fitted
- Optional aero accessories — top spoiler, top and chin bar gurneys available separately
Cert: FIA 8860-2018
Note: Standard flat chin bar. For the duckbill/chin spoiler version, see the HP7 Evo III Duckbill. Sizing in centimeters (57– through 61+).

FAQ
What's the difference between the HP7 Evo III and Evo IV?
The Evo IV is the newer generation — adds Bell's SmartLock visor system, updated liner construction, and refined aerodynamics. The Evo III uses the previous pivot system. Both are FIA8860-2018. If you're buying new and don't have a budget constraint, Evo IV is the current spec.
Standard or duckbill — which do I choose?
Open-wheel and formula applications generally benefit from the duckbill for added downforce. Closed-cockpit or cars with tight chin clearance should use the standard flat version. Check your car's geometry.
Does it work for closed-cockpit racing?
Yes — FIA8860 is accepted everywhere FIA8859 is accepted. The HP7 uses an SE07 shield optimized for open-wheel; for closed-cockpit specifically, look at the HP6 (SE06 shield, wider eyeport design).
