G-Force Nova SA2020 / FIA8859 — Racing Helmet

G-Force's flagship SA2020 helmet — carbon fiber composite shell at ~3 lbs, dual SA2020/FIA8859 certification, one of the largest published eyeport specs on the market (V-67°/H-220°), and the most adjustable fit system in its price range. The Dual Top Tool-Free Swappable Ventilation System hot-swaps between standard cover and forced-air top without tools. At $499, it competes with helmets costing twice as much.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE SHELL:

  • Carbon fiber composite shell — ~3 lbs; lighter than most fiberglass helmets in this price range
  • Largest eyeport in class — V-67°/H-220° field of view (manufacturer published); wider than most competitors at this price tier
  • Dual Top Tool-Free Swappable Ventilation — hot-swap between standard top cover with front air scoop and optional forced-air top (sold separately); no tools required
  • Comfort Blend Plus liner with TrackPAT — 6 adjustable pads (4 crown, 2 cheek) plus optional sizing foams for custom fit dial-in; wrapped in soft knit material
  • Multi-density graphite EPS liner — naturally gray/black in color
  • Integrated duckbill + Kammback — front chin spoiler and rear kammback for aerodynamic stability
  • Synthetic rubber shield seal — keeps dirt and debris out of eyeport
  • Redesigned M6 HANS hardware — smaller profile than previous generations, equally strong

CERT: SA2020 / FIA 8859-2015 (dual certified)

FAQ

What's the tool-free vent swap?

The top ventilation cover pops on and off without tools — switch between the standard cover (natural airflow) and the optional forced-air top (for external air blower). Practical for switching between event types.

V-67°/H-220° eyeport — what does that mean?

Vertical 67° and horizontal 220° field of view — manufacturer-published spec. For reference, most helmets in this price range publish narrower specs or don't publish at all. It's genuinely one of the wider eyeports available under $500.

Is the fit actually customizable?

More than most at this price. Six interchangeable pads plus sizing foams let you dial in crown fit and cheek fit independently. If you've struggled to find a helmet that fits well, the Nova's fit system is worth trying before buying more expensive options.
