Sparco RW-4 Fire Resistant Racing Boxers a comfort layer, not a certified safety garment.

Sparco's entry-level RW-4 line of underwear is optimized for both comfort and protection while maintaining a budget price. Although not FIA or SFI approved due to their short length, fire resistant boxer shorts are great for adding protection on hotter days when rated-protection is not needed. Using Sparco's classic soft-touch fire resistant fabric, the regular fitting shorts are comfortable for all body types and offers excellent breathability.

FAQ

Is this worn alone or layered under a suit?
It's a base layer worn underneath your racing suit, not standalone apparel.

What's it made from?
See the construction details above — the original listing doesn't specify exact fabric percentages.

FASTLAP SUPPLY TAKE: Not cert-rated, but a solid comfort layer for track days and non-competitive use where a full FIA rating isn't required.

FastLap Supply Fit Check:

🇮🇹 Italian Brand — Euro Sizing Runs Small

Sparco lifestyle apparel is designed and sized in Italy. Italian sizing runs smaller than US sizing. US customers: when in doubt, we recommend sizing up one size for your best fit.

Good for the price

Switched to this after my cotton undershirt started feeling sketchy under the suit. breathes surprisingly well for a fire-rated layer, doesn't turn into a sauna under the suit. runs a little small, sized up and it fit better. recommend as part of a full nomex setup.

Passed tech no problem

Picked this up as a base layer for a full season of club events. held up through a full season of washes without the fabric breaking down. pricier than a cotton base layer but that's the FIA rating talking. does what a fire-rated layer should, disappears once you're strapped in.
